What are the sources of estrogen and progesterone? Which one of these is active during puberty and mention any three of its effects in this period?

Estrogen is secreted from theca internal layer of growing follicle. Progesterone is secreted from Graafian follicle until the placenta is formed. A small amount of estrogen is also secreted from Graafian follicle. During the later phase of pregnancy, the placenta is the main source of progesterone.
Estrogen is active during puberty and causes following changes in females:-
  1. Development of breast development of growing ovarian follicles,
  2. The appearance of female secondary sex characters (e.g., high pitch of voice, etc.)
  3. Mammary gland development.
