There is no specific symptoms and treatment for protozoan disease, it depends upon which kind of protozoan disease a person is infected with:-
Protozoan disease symptoms:-
1) Malaria- Initial manifestations of the disease are similar to flu-like symptoms.The symptoms may include headache, sweating, fever. Keeping mosquito population under control can prevent the disease.
2) Leishmaniasis- The symptoms of leishmaniasis include skin sores. It can be prevented by using nets and insecticides to avoid insect bites.
3) Cryptosporidiosis- Diarrhoea, stomach pains, fever, vomiting, dehydration are the symptoms. Cryptosporidium is inactivated by chlorine dioxide, Ultraviolet light, ozone treatment.
4) Chagas disease- It is caused by the protozoan Trypanosoma cruzi. Symptoms include include fever, fatigue, muscle pain, headache, loss of appetite, diarrhoea and vomiting. Decreasing insects that spreads it and decreasing their contact with humans.
