What are the symptoms of Hemolytic Anemia?

Open in App
Solution

Hemolytic anemia: It is the condition where the red blood cells die before completing their normal life span. This leads to anemia or a lack of oxygen due to a reduction in the number of red blood cells.

The symptoms of hemolytic anemia:

  1. Very pale/yellow skin: The skin color decreased or gets pale because of the death of RBCs.
  2. Shortness of breath: The amount of oxygen in the body decreases due to fewer RBCs, leading to exhaustion and shortness of breath.
  3. Weakness: Due to less amount of oxygen the cells cannot produce a sufficient amount of ATP, hence the body gets weak easily.
  4. Dark urine: The dead RBCs are eliminated through urine, lending it a darker colour.
