Solution
Photosynthesis:
The synthesis of carbohydrates by green parts of plants in the presence of sunlight with the help of carbon dioxide and water is called photosynthesis.
In photosynthesis, carbon dioxide and water react in the presence of sunlight and chlorophyll to produce oxygen and carbohydrate.
Chloroplasts are the site of photosynthesis.
Factors that affect the rate of photosynthesis:
Light intensity: Though the plant gets water and carbon dioxide, it can't photosynthesize without light. Increasing the light intensity will raise the rate of photosynthesis.
Temperature: The temperature should be moderate to increase the rate of photosynthesis. If the temperature is too cold or too hot, it decreases photosynthesis.
Carbon dioxide concentration: The sufficient amount of carbon dioxide is required for photosynthesis.
