Photosynthesis is the process in which simple sugar is manufactured from CO₂ and H₂O in the presence of sunlight inside the chlorophyll-containing cells.

Events:

1. Absorption of light energy by chlorophyll.
2. There will be the conversion of light energy to chemical energy and the splitting of water molecules into hydrogen and oxygen.
3. At last, reduction of carbon dioxide to carbohydrates i.e., Glucose takes place.
