Open in App
Solution

Dear user,
Aqua regia is the mixture of one part by volume of concentrated nitric acid and three parts of concentrated hydrochloric acid.
It is colourless, fuming and volatile solvent.

HNO3 + 3HCl -----> NOCl + 2H2O + 2Cl

Due to production nascent chlorine aqua regia is very reactive.

A mixture of HNO3 and HBr also exhibit the property of Aqua regia .
