The two forces or pressure that aids in the movement of water and minerals in the xylem are Root pressure and Transpiration pull. Root pressure is responsible for pushing up water to a small heights in the stem whereas, in the absence of circulatory system in plants the flow of water through the xylem in plants in a high rate is achieved by transpirational pull.
