Question

What are the two most common elements found in stars?

Open in App
Solution

Hydrogen and helium were the overwhelming majority of elements formed in the Big Bang itself. They have far outranked other elements ever since, with hydrogen coming first by a large margin.
Stars have been fusing the hydrogen and helium to make the heavier elements we all know and love, but that has affected only a small portion of the primordial mixture of mostly hydrogen and helium.
