Solution

Pancreas:

  1. This organ of the digestive system is located in the abdomen.
  2. It secretes pancreatic juices which contain the enzymes that help in the digestion of food.

Two Pancreatic hormones include:

  1. Insulin: The hormone insulin is made by cells of the pancreas known as beta cells. Beta cells make up about 75% of the hormonal cells in the pancreas. Insulin is a hormone that helps your body use sugar for energy. If you don't have enough insulin, your blood sugar will rise and you will develop diabetes.
  2. Glucagon: The hormone Glucagon is made by cells of the pancreas called Alpha cells and makes up about 20% of the pancreatic cells that produce hormones. They produce glucagon. When blood sugar levels are too low, glucagon sends a message to the liver to raise blood sugar levels and release stored blood sugar levels.
