Autonomic nervous system (ANS)

  2. It helps in the regulation of various involuntary functions like respiration, circulation, digestion, etc by relaying messages from the CNS to the smooth muscles and involuntary organs like the bladder, pupil, and heart.
  3. It is further classified into two parts-
    1. Sympathetic nervous system
    2. Parasympathetic nervous system.
