Lymphocytes:

  1. These are the smallest white blood cells and constitute 20 - 30% of the blood.
  2. They are also called B-cells and can produce antibodies that destroy pathogens.

Monocytes:

  1. They are the largest white blood cells and constitute 1 - 4% of the blood.
  2. They are responsible for the destruction of dead cells and cell fragments.
