Karyotypes represent a complete set of chromosomes of an individual.
Karyotypes refer to laboratory tests that give the image of a person's chromosomes isolated from an individual cell.
The image shows a complete set of chromosomes arranged in numerical order.
It is used to find out the abnormalities in chromosome structure and chromosome number.
Types of karyotypes:
Symmetrical Karyotype: The karyotype in which the size of chromosomes is approximately the same and has a centromere located at the center.
Asymmetrical Karyotype: The karyotype represents different shapes of chromosomes. It is the most advanced Karyotype which shows few metacentric and more acrocentric chromosomes.
