Solution

Ovarian stroma: The stroma in the ovaries is a type of connective tissue that consists of spindle-shaped stroma cells supplied with blood vessels.

Ovarian stroma is divided into two zones:

  1. Medulla: It is located in the centre of ovarian stroma and is made of loose connective tissue, supplied with blood vessels and lymphatic vessels.
  2. Cortex: The portion of ovarian stroma that surrounds the medulla and is made of loose connective tissue which contains ovarian follicles embedded in it.
