What are the types of carbon compounds? Explain each with suitable examples.
On the basis of origin there are two types of carbon compounds:
Inorganic compounds: These are compounds containing carbon but are obtained from non-living matter.
For eg, Calcium carbonate, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, etc.
Organic compounds: These are the compounds containing carbon obtained from living organisms such as plants and animals.
For eg, Ethanol, cellulose, starch, etc.
