Solution

Reparative regeneration:

  1. The regrowth of a particular cell, tissue, or organ from the existing cells is referred to as regeneration.
  2. The regeneration of damaged cells or tissues in multicellular organisms is called reparative regeneration.

Types of reparative regeneration in vertebrates:

  1. Complete regeneration: The type of regeneration in which the part of the body is regenerated is identical to those that existed before injury.
  2. Regenerative hypertrophy: The type of regeneration in which an organ is replaced by a scar and the remaining organ becomes enlarged to perform a similar function before the injury or damage.
  3. Organelle Compensatory hyperplasia: The type of regeneration that occurs within the damaged cells of an organ. The organelles of the organ cells divide and grow which makes the organ perform its functions.
