Solution

Correct answer is option D) Permanent and chemical change.

[1 Mark]

Chemical change:- It is a change in which the chemical composition of the substance changes because of the formation of a new substance.

Permanent change:- It is a change in which the original state of substance cannot be reattained.

When a paper burns, it turns into ash, hence a new substance is formed. And it cannot be reverted to paper. Hence conversion of paper to ash after burning is a permanent and chemical change.
