what are the types of thermal expansion

Dear student
There are three types of thermal expansion.
1). Linear expansion
2). Superficial expansion
3) Cubical expansion

1). Linear expansion : It is basically the increase in length of a material in relation to increase in temperature of material.
2). Superficial expansion : Whenever there is an increase n the area of solid body due to heating then the expansion is called superficial expansion.
3). Cubical expansion: Whenever there is an increase in the volume of the body due to heating the expansion is called as cubical or volumetric expansion.
