Solution

Algae:

It is a group of photosynthetic, aquatic, and nucleus-containing organisms, which are devoid of true stems, roots, leaves, and the unique multicellular reproductive compositions of plants.

The uses of algae:

  1. Algae is effective to manufacture biofuel: It has been found that algae possess the tendency to develop about 5000 gallons of biofuel from a single acre per annum. For example, seaweed can be used as seaweed fuel.
  2. Algae can be used as animal feed: Algae possess high protein content, which makes them ideal as animal feed. Microalgae are a rich source of protein like Chlorella and Arthrospira.
  3. Algae can work as an energy source: Algae helps in the production of biofuel, which helps to fuel power generators. For example, macroalgae like seaweed are used as biofuel.
  4. Algae can be used to produce vegetable oil: Like safflowers, olives, and peanuts, algae also possesses the tendency to create vegetable oils. For example, microalgae-like diatoms can be used to generate vegetable oil.
  5. Algae can act as a human food supplement: Unlike other foods obtained from plants, algae possess a complete amino acid profile, which helps in supporting several human metabolic procedures. Chlorella and spirulina can be used as human food supplements.
  6. Algae can act as fertilizer: Algae can be used as a fertilizer, as it can dissociate briskly to release enough amount of nitrogen. The chlorella species, brown seaweeds, etc. can be used as a fertilizer.
  7. Algae can act as a productive carbon dioxide emissions cleaner: Algae possesses the tendency to captivate carbon dioxide at high rates, this can assist in cleaning emissions of carbon dioxide from sources like nuclear power plants.
