What are the uses of salt in chemistry?

It is formed by the reaction between cation and anion. The most common salts in chemistry are sodium chloride, sodium hydroxide, sodium carbonate, Baking Soda, Bleaching powder, and Plaster of Paris.

Uses of Sodium Chloride (NaCl):

  1. Cooking
  2. Soap manufacture
  3. Melting ice
  4. To purify water (alum, CaOCl2​)
