Transparent: Objects that allow Light to pass through it freely are called transparent objects. Some uses of transparent objects like glass are -

  1. Car windscreens are made of glass
  2. Lenses uses in spectacles and binoculars.
  3. Glass windows used in shops.
  4. Glasses used in lamps.

Translucent: Objects that allow only partial light to pass through them are called translucent objects. Some uses of transparent objects are like -

  1. Frosted glass used in bathrooms.
  2. Tracing papers.
  3. Tinted glasses in automobiles.
  4. Skylights used in buildings.

Opaque: Objects that do not allow light to pass through are called opaque objects. Examples of such objects are given below -

  1. Walls of homes and buildings.
  2. Roofs of buildings.
  3. Umbrellas used by us.
  4. Cloths that we're wearing.
