​The main components of blood are:​
(i) Plasma
​(ii)RBC (Red blood cells)​
(iii)WBC (White blood cells), and​
(iv)Platelets​ ​

Functions:​

(i)Plasma:​ It is a liquid part of the blood. It is made up of 90 percent water. The main function of plasma is to take nutrients, hormones, and proteins to the parts of the body that need it.​ ​

(ii)RBC(Erythrocytes) :​Red blood cells are significant for transporting oxygen from your lungs to your body tissues. It takes the carbon dioxide waste back to your lungs for you to exhale.​

(iii)WBC(Leucocytes) :​WBC helps to fight against infection and defend the body against other foreign materials. WBC makes an immunoprotein, antibodies that help to fight against infection.​

(iv)Platelets : ​The main function of platelets is to prevent bleeding. Platelets help in the coagulation of blood (clotting of blood) during a cut or wound.​
