What are the various ways by which rabies can be prevented?

Rabies is a viral disease which can be life-threatening if not vaccinated immediately. It is transmitted to human beings by bite of infected animals like dog, monkey, rabbit, cat etc. It can also spread through saliva of an infected animal in case it comes in contact with our eyes or mouth. This is why the animal cages are not preferred anywhere near kitchen. To prevent the disease at its source, vacciantion of stray animals can be done.
