2. creating a desire among us to consume certain products.
3. creating the aspiration for a higher standard of living as depicted in advertisements.
Advertisements lead to social and economic inequality because they often depict a lifestyle that only the rich can afford. The rich people can afford to consume the products shown in advertisements. But the poor people cannot. When this happens, inequality increases regarding products that different sections of people consume.
