Open in App
Solution

Thermoacidophiles:

  1. These are archaebacteria that have an affinity for high temperatures and high acidity.
  2. They are found in hot springs, soil with low pH, and hot acid soils surrounding sulfur springs.
  3. Their cell walls have long chains of hydrocarbons flanked on both sides by glycerol. This cytoarchitecture provides them with their resistant nature.
  4. An example is Sulfolobus sp. which lives in hot sulfur springs.
