Solution

Trichomes:

  1. The epidermis is the outermost layer of the plant body that is made of a single layer of cells, and the cells are closely packed to each other without any intercellular spaces.
  2. The epidermal cells consist of hair-like structures known as trichomes.
  3. These hairs or trichomes help in protecting the plant from sunlight and outer injuries.
  4. They also prevent the plant from water loss.
