Each step of a food chain is termed trophic level.
Grass $\to$ Insect $\to$ Frog $\to$ Snake.
The above food chain has four trophic level :
(i) Grass (Producer)
(ii) Insect (Primary consumer)
(iii) Frog (Secondary consumer)
(iv) Snake (Tertiary consumer).
