1. Magnet is a substances that attracts other magnets or magnetic substances.
2. It has attractive, repulsive as well as directive properties.

On the basis of formation these magnets can be classified into two kinds.

1. Natural magnet: Natural magnet are formed by a blackish rock known as magnetite which is found naturally inside the earth's surface.
2. Artificial magnet: Artificial magnets are the substances that are induced with magnetic property through artificial ways.
