Two species concept:

  1. The two species concept was given by a great biologist Ernst Walter Mayr.
  2. The two species concept includes the normalistic species concept and the typological species concept.

Nominalistic Species Concept: Species are believed as the creation of man. In nature, generally, they lack definite exis­tence.

  1. But this concept did not have any scientific proof.
  2. It is believed that the species have been inven­ted to big numbers of individuals jointly.

Typological Species Concept: According to this, there is a finite number of varieties of living organisms that can exist on earth.

  1. They do not exhibit any relationship with each other. Such different forms are called species.
  2. This inequality is regarded as an unimportant and irrelevant phenomenon.
  3. The Morphospecies concept stated that the species could be differentiated from other species due to their physical features and can be identified by their morphological attributes.
