What are unpaired electrons?

Open in App
Solution

Dear Student

Unpaired electron can be defined as an electron which is present in an orbital of an atom singly, that is not in a paired form.
Paired electrons are those electrons which are present in pair and occupy the spin states of the orbital specified by the three quantum numbers, i.e., n, l and m.
