Solution

Variation is also known as mutation. These are the slight changes that keep on taking place in the genetic material of the organism. These can be large scale variations of small-scale variation. It is the changes in the DNA sequence that makes different genetic variations.
The variations are a result of differences in our DNA and it results in the formation of different kind of alleles and genes that's when they express themselves differently and have different features.
This is important in evolution because evolution relies on genetic variation that is passed on from one generation to the next favourable characters are then selected which are better at survival and are passed on this which is the process of natural selection.
