Question

What can you say about the value of the angle of deviation in such a situation?

Solution

The diagram is shown for a ray of light incident at an angle of incidence 'i' passes through an equilateral glass prism such that refracted ray inside the prism is parallel to its base and emerges from the prism at an angle of emergence 'e'. Here, in this case, angle of incidenti=angle of emergencee. In such cases, the angle of deviation for the ray which is incident on the surface of a glass prism, the emergent ray will be having minimum angle of deviation compared to other situations where the refracted ray does not pass parallel to the base of the prism.
