Open in App
Solution

Dear student,

Ground water pollution occurs when contaminants and pollutants like nitrates, various metals and chemicals released by industries and many more such pollutants are released to the ground and they make their way to ground water. As you may know that ground water is the most important source of irrigation of crops and fields. It occurs when man made products such as gasoline, oil, road salts and chemicals get mixed with ground water making it unsafe and unfit for human consumption. The most common of groundwater pollution is due to the use of fertilizers and pesticides which get into the groundwater when use excessively and contaminate it.

Thanks and regards.
