Enthalpy is defined as the heat energy in a system. Enthalpy is equal to the sum of the total internal energy of the system and the product of pressure and volume.
It is denoted by H.
Mathematically
Factors affecting enthalpy
Physical state of Reactant and products- The enthalpy of the system changes when the Physical state of reactant and products changes. This is due to the release of Heat.
Number of Reactants- When we increase the number of reactants, the enthalpy also increases.
Temperature and Pressure- If we increase the temperature and pressure the enthalpy also increases.
