What causes impedance?

Open in App
Solution

Impedance

  1. Impedance is a combination of resistance and reactance.
  2. It is essentially anything and everything that obstructs the flow of electrons within an electrical circuit.
  3. It is denoted by Z and estimated by the formula Z=R2+(XL-XC)2, where R is resistance, XL is inductive reactance, and XC is inductive Capacitance.

Causes of impedance

  1. The impedance causes inside the inductor due to the generation of magnetic field
  2. The impedance in a capacitor is caused due to the creation of the electric field.
