Solution

The correct option is A

Steam

When water is heated, the kinetic energy of water particles increases. At 100°C, the water particles gain enough energy to overcome the force of attraction and change the state from liquid to steam (gas). This energy is known as the latent heat of vaporisation. Hence, the steam particles possess the latent heat of vaporisation and cause more severe burns than the boiling water.
