What causes over modulation?

Open in App
Solution

Modulation

  1. Modulation is the process of transforming the data into electrical signals to fine-tune the transmission.
  2. There are mainly two types of modulation i.e. Amplitude modulation and Frequency modulation.
  3. Modulation is widely used in communication to intensify the frequency or amplitude of low-frequency wave so that it reaches their destination.

Causes of over modulation

  1. In amplitude modulation, overmodulation is caused when the amplitude of modulating wave exceeds the maximum amplitude of the carrier wave.
  2. In frequency modulation, overmodulation is occur when the frequency of modulating wave exceeds the maximum frequency of the carrier wave.
