Solution

Plant growth:

  1. Plant growth is a permanent and irreversible increase in the size of an organism.
  2. This feature is observed in all organisms, accompanied by a number of metabolic processes.
  3. In plants, the seed germinates and develops into a new seedling, which eventually develops into an adult plant.
  4. Plants show infinite growth.

Causes:

  1. Plants, like any other multicellular living organism, undergo a series of processes of cell growth (increase in cell size) and division (mitosis) to go through 4 important stages of development. - from seed to germination, to vegetative and budding, to flowering, and finally to fruit ripening. During these stages, temperature, sunlight, water and nutrients must be provided and maintained at optimal levels for normal plant growth.
  2. In addition, soil pH, plant hormones, and their activities also affect the growth rate.
  3. Changes in any of these key requirements can put the plant under stress, lead to altered growth patterns or stunted growth, etc. was observed.
