Spermatogenesis:

  1. Spermatogenesis is a process in which the fertilizing sperms are produced, which then fuse with an egg to form the zygote.
  2. Sperms are formed by the process of cell differentiation.
  3. Spermatogenesis begins when the hypothalamus releases the gonadotrophin-releasing hormone (GnRH).
  4. GnRH induces the release of pituitary luteinizing hormone and follicle-stimulating hormone
  5. LH (luteinizing hormone) promotes testosterone synthesis.
  6. Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) stimulates spermatogenesis.
  7. The main androgen in the testis that controls spermatogenesis is testosterone.
  8. Testosterone is produced by Leydig Cells.
