The correct option is C Uneven heating between the equator and the poles
Regions close to equator get maximum heat from the sun. Air in these regions gets warm easily. The warm air rises and cooler air from regions in 0-30 degrees latitude belt on either side of the equator move in. These winds blow from north and south towards the equator. At poles, air is colder than that at latitudes about 60 degrees. Warm air at these latitudes rises up and the cold wind from polar regions rushes in, to take its place and this causes wind currents.
