Let the length of rectangle be L and breadth be B.
Area = LB
NOW,
After decreasing the length of rectangle by 5% and Increasing the breadth by 5%
Decreased length =95100L.

&Increased breadth =105100B.

Area of this newly formed rectangle =95100L×105100B
=0.9975LB
Now,
Decrease in Area =(10.9975)LB
=0.0025LB

% Decrease in Area =0.0025LBLB×100
