RuBisCo is an enzyme which has dual nature. It acts as carboxylase, when $C O_{2}$ concentration is good enough in atmosphere. But if $O_{2}$ concentration increases, its nature changes and it binds with $O_{2}$ and acts as oxygenase enzyme, which forces $C O_{2}$ to enter $C_{2}$ cycle thus leading to photorespiration and loss of $C O_{2}$ .
