Conduction is the process of transfer of energy in the form of heat or electricity from one atom to another atom within the object by direct contact.
Conduction happens in solids, liquids and gases.
Conduction is most efficient in solids since the molecules are tightly packed. The density of molecules is lesser in liquids and in gases, therefore, conduction is not very efficient.
There are two types of conduction: 4.1 Conduction of heat: The transition of heat energy in a body without the actual movement of its particle is called conduction. 4.2 Conduction of electricity: Conduction of electricity occurs due to the movement of electrical charges through the medium.
