Open in App
Solution

Consider the given equation,

4x2+12x+8=0

x2+3x+2=0 ..... (1)

Add and subtract (32)2 in equation (1), we get

x2+3x+2+(32)2(32)2=0

(x+32)2+294=0

(x+32)214=0

Hence, need to add 14 so that x2+3x+2=0 become a perfect square.
