1. If the proportions of oxygen and nitrogen in the air undergo a change, we will have to face the following dangers:

(i) If the amount of oxygen is increased in the current proportion, it will be easy for everything to catch fire and hence no one can survive in such an atmosphere. But if the amount of oxygen is decreased, respiration process will get affected and hence there will be difficulty in survival of living organisms.

(ii) Some plants need atmospheric nitrogen for their growth. If amount of nitrogen gas gets decreased, the productivity of these plants will suffer.
