Solution

The British encouraged the Muslims to form new organizations for securing their interests. They tried to spread communal hatred through the Press, posters, literature and public platform. The Muslim League was established with a goal to define and advance the Indian Muslim's civil rights and to provide them protection. The Morley-Minto reforms introduced separate communal electorates which sowed the seeds of communalism and widened the gulf between Hindus and Muslims.
