a. British took repressive measures to suppress the revolt
b. They rather used all their strength to fight retaliate and called many reinforcements from Britain to outnumber the rebels
c. British also passed new laws to convict the rebel and and then gradually controlled the main centres of the Revolt
d. They arrested Bahadur Shah Zafar , killed his sons and imprisoned him in Rangoon
e. They also killed, hanged many rebels, Nawabs.
f. British also promised that traditional rights of landowners would not be effected if they support them
