Some of the major difficulties that we face in harnessing the wind energy are as follows:

1. Cost issues: The initial unit cost of equipment for each windmill is high. The cost of the land is also equally high but easier to estimate. Moreover, operational and maintenance expenses are also necessary and are very high.
2. Environmental and sound issues: The rotation of the blades affects the lifestyle of birds. Many birds and bats are known to be injured by the blades. The rotation of the blades also causes high noise pollution in the vicinity.
3. Variable power production: The amount of power produced depends on the weather and the environment. The wind during the day time is most commonly not proportional to the usage.
