What disease can an infected dog spread to humans?
Rabies
Rabies is a deadly animal disease caused by rabies virus. It can happen in wild animals, including raccoons, skunks, bats and foxes, or in dogs, cats or farm animals. People get it from the bite of an infected animal.
In case of a dog bite, the affected portion should be cleaned immediately. Anti-rabies injection should be taken, in any case within three days. The number of injections may vary between 3 and 14 depending on the number of bites and location of bites.
