Solution

Heart: It is a muscular organ that circulates blood throughout the body by rhythmic contraction and dilatation. It receives oxygenated blood from the lung and distributes it to the rest of the body via arteries. Meanwhile, it collects the deoxygenated blood from the entire body and transports it to the heart via veins.

Following are some of the diseases associated with the heart:

  1. Coronary artery disease: This occurs due to blockage in the coronary arteries that supply blood to the cardiac muscles.
  2. Arrhythmia: This is a case of irregular heartbeat that occurs due to a variety of lifestyle and metabolic reasons.
  3. Rheumatic heart disease: It is caused by rheumatic fever which is an invasion of the body by Streptococcus pyogenes.
  4. Aortic aneurysms: It is a bulge or clot formed in the aorta of the heart.

The causes of these diseases are high blood pressure, smoking, high cholesterol, diabetes, obesity, etc. which results in brain damage, heart failure, and death.
