Solution

Fossils:

Fossils are the preserved remains of organisms. The study of fossils is known as paleontology.

  1. Fossils give evidences of evolution such as the extinct form of species, e.g. Dinosaurs.
  2. The connecting link between two groups of organisms, e.g. Archeopteryx is the connecting link between birds and reptiles.
  3. Evolution of a species, e.g. evolution of the horse from the five-toed to the one-toed organism.
  4. Fossils also help us to know the habits and habitats of extinct species.
